Linda Norgrove Killed By US Special Forces, Report Will Say: "A US investigation into the death of Linda Norgrove, the British aid worker, is understood to have found that she was killed by a hand grenade thrown by American Special Forces during a botched rescue attempt.
William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, will tell the House of Commons this week that the aid worker was tragically killed by her would-be rescuers but that the blame for her death must lie with her kidnappers.
Mr Hague will also say that the US military co-operated in a full and open investigation, which was overseen by two senior British officers, one of whom was a senior SAS commander.
The Foreign Secretary will state, however, that the member of the US Navy's Seal Team 6 who threw the grenade did not admit to being responsible for Miss Norgrove's death until he was confronted with video footage of the incident."
