Thurston Moore Digs Crawdaddy!, Plays In-Home “Take Away” Show

Thurston Moore Digs Crawdaddy!, Plays In-Home “Take Away” Show: "

Posted today on La Blogotheque, we’ve got a “Take Away Show” by the towering guitar-wrangler Thurston Moore, who, ever the iconoclast, doesn’t exactly take it “away” as much he does the opposite—he stays home. In the opening moments of the clip, set to shots from around his apartment and neighborhood, the solo & Sonic Youth artist looks back on his early days in the big city, and how reading Crawdaddy! changed his life. (It’s right around the 1-minute mark.) Then he and violinist Samara Lubelski play “Blood Never Lies” and “Benediction”, with some chatting about Beck in between. Both songs are from Moore’s latest solo LP which we reviewed when it came out last month. In the second clip, posted below, he talks a bit about his nostalgia and personal reference points from the hardcore scene, and plays new-album song “Circulation”.
