Musicians mill about in semi-darkness on the stage at Berlin’s Astra Club as a deep droning sound rumbles like a malfunctioning PA. 1800 people, notably dominated by bearded men approaching what was once known as their middle age, push forward through the squeeze with plastic beer cups held aloft over their head.
