More people have died in police custody in BC than anywhere else in Canada.
A report by the B.C. Civil Liberties Association has found that between 1992 and 2006, there was a staggering 250-plus deaths in the care of the RCMP. The second highest number of deaths in the same period occurred in Ontario at 113.
