The landlord of the Emerald Terrace in Vancouver's West End has been caught red-handed after distributing illegal eviction notices to some of the building's tenants.
According to people living in the building, the letters were handed out under the pretext of mandatory suite renovations. However, it appears that residents who paid the lowest rent were being evicted in order to accommodate people who would be willing to pay a higher rent.
