Admittedly we were a little slow on the uptake this time, as the Cars have had this clip up on their Facebook page for a couple weeks already. It’s worth drawing continued attention to, though, because this reunited powerhouse is really on a role. All three of the teasers they’ve dangled out since revealing their reunion have sounded fresh and fun and yet distinctly Cars-like, which is a good thing. The end of the clip below flashes some text implying something about Spring 2011; whether that addresses the release of a lead single or the full LP, we don’t know quite yet. The Cars’ official website is currently under construction, their Facebook page ain’t sayin’ much, and the folks over at Elektra Records apparently haven’t their Cars page in about ten years. So much mystery! For a band that first exploded onto the charts in the late ’70s and then broke up in the late ’80s, they sure do have a handle on new media.
